Welcome to the second international conference on Well-being in the Information Society (WIS 2008) – Promoting Health in Urban Living. The three-day program with nearly 40 scientific papers to be presented and several interesting keynotes and panels will give all participants new ideas and challenges for thought – in addition to the social contacts that such a multidisciplinary conference is to promote.

The meeting offers a comprehensive approach how to improve health and sustainable development in the cities, and encourage collaboration at the international levels. The Healthy Cities and Union of Baltic Cities networks unify the vision of active and attractive cities. The meeting highlights also the 10th Anniversary of the Baltic Region Healthy Cities Association. 

Baltic Region Healthy Cities Association and the representatives of Russian Healthy Cities Network started two years project about HIV/AIDS prevention among youth, “We choose a life – Youth against HIV/AIDS”.
