Educational institutes

According to the data of the academic year 2004/2005, there are 14 pre-school childcare institutions with 104 kindergarten groups (altogether 2,009 children) operating in the City of Pärnu. There are 12 municipal general education schools and 2 private schools. The language of instruction in two of the general education schools is Russian. The number of students in the general education schools is 7,925, and there are altogether 298 class groups. In the municipal general education schools there are 7,511 students and 280 class groups, in the private general education schools 414 students are studying in 18 class groups.

In the academic year 2004/2005, there were 4 vocational educational institutions with 1830 students.
