Jurmala – the largest resort city in the Baltic States, which is well-known for its natural treasures – the mild climate, sea, healthy air, curative mud and mineral waters. The attraction of Jurmala hides in its 32 km long white sand beach, the large pine forests and the natural border of the city – the River Lielupe. In Jurmala, you will discover a combination of charming wooden houses built in the beginning of the last century and modern resort buildings. At two places of Jurmala – Bulduri and Majori are nominated as Blue Flag beaches.
55 thousands inhabitants live in Jurmala. Jurmala ‘s territory is 100 square km, and 2/3 of town is covered with pain – tree’s woods parks. Jurmala is located 25 km from state capital – Riga, and 15 km from international airport.

Since it became a member of the Healthy Cities Latvian National Network in 1999. Project is located in the Welfare department. Project team is multisectoral team where work together municipality specialists from different fields involving NGO and citizens.
