Accommodation

Participants have to make the hotel reservation themselves on 16.7.2010 at the latest. The organizers have made preliminary reservations of rooms to the following hotels on the name “WIS 2010”. The payment of the room has to be made directly to the hotel. Recommended hotels are situated in the centre of Turku, close to the conference venue.

Transport connections to the Centre of Turku and Turku School of Economics

Arriving to Turku Airport  (Turku Airport)
From the airport you can easily reach the city centre by taking a bus. Bus number 1 departs from the airport to the Market Place 3 times per hour and costs 2,50 euro / single fare (route Lentoasema / Flygstationen – Kauppatori / Salutorget). See timetables for local buses from

Arriving to Helsinki-Vantaa Airport
The easiest way to arrive from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Turku is by bus. Buses leave from the airport every hour. The trip takes 2,5 hours and cost 32 euro. See timetables for buses from

The closest bus stop to the WIS2010-conference place is at the Turku Cathedral, which is at walk-ing distance from the venue. It is also easy to catch a taxi from the bus station.

Coming by Train from Helsinki
Kupittaa / Kuppis station is the closest railway station to the WIS2010-conference place. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the school (less than 1 km).

Coming by Car from Helsinki
The WIS2010-conference place is situated by the Helsinki motorway (E18). Driving from Helsinki, you should take the exit signing the hospital (TYKS) and the city centre. After crossing the Hämeensilta bridge, the school falls on your right hand side, and the hospital on your left hand side. Parking lots can be found behind the venue building

Coming from the City Centre
Coming from the city centre, you can easily walk (1,5 km) to the WIS2010-conferenceplace. Alternatively, you can take a bus (No. 4, 40, 50, 51, 53 or 54) leaving from the market place. See timetables for local buses from

Working languages and documentation

The working language of the WIS2010-conference is English and all documentation will be produced in English.

Banks and currency

The monetary unit used in Finland is Euro (EUR). Most Finnish businesses accept the major credit cards. Banks are open from 9.30 to 16.00 on weekdays. Banks are closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Facts about Finland
